When is the Center Open?
The center is open 365 days per year. From Monday to Friday we're open from 5pm - 9pm; on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays we're open from 12pm - 6pm. We observe the following Holidays for our Holidays Hours: New Year's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter, Memorial Day Weekend, Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve.
What services do the Centers offer?
We offer services similar to those at a pediatrician's office, outside of regular working hours. After Hours Pediatric Urgent Care offers treatment of minor injuries and illness, lacerations, nebulizer treatments for asthmatic patients, and temporary casting and splinting for orthopedic injuries. Flu shots for children and their families are available during flu season and the center provides onsite laboratory testing for rapid flu, strep and mononucleosis. We are contracted with Quest Laboratory for dally routine or stat pick ups. Comprehensive Sports Physicals are also offered, and we offer the services of an on-call facial plastic surgeon as well as a pediatric orthopedic group should, patients require them.
Are there any services the Center doesn’t offer?
We don't do well-child care, nor do we do well child immunizations. We don't provide primary care and we don't have walk-in x-ray availability.
What do After Hour's services cost and how long do you have to wait?
The cost for most patients is their standard office co-pay as directed by their insurance company. Self pay patients are charged $140.00. Waiting times are usually less than twenty minutes.
What is the history of the Center?
Anyone whom has worked in the medical field or had children of their own knows that there is a great need for children in this community to be seen by qualified professionals when their Pediatricians' offices are closed. We opened the Center in August 2001 to address this need. Our Center is the only after hours pediatric urgent care facility in the State of Missouri, and the welcoming response from the community has been phenomenal.
The number of patient visits doubled between the first year and second, and has increased 25% each year since. Families are thrilled with the quality of care, the short waiting time and the low cost of their co-pay. They receive prompt evaluation and treatment. This may include medications or simply reassurance thereby avoiding a trip to the Emergency Room. Our patients’ primary physicians are very satisfied by how efficiently we communicate, thus enabling them to maintain complete medical records. We have built the Centers on positive referrals not just from patients and their parents, but from the numerous pediatricians who refer their own patients here.
